Royal Ascot was a huge success and great memories of a fabulous week, British racing certainly can be seriously proud of what they put on.
Aiden O’Brien just pipped John Gosden as leading trainer and Ryan More did the same to Frankie Dettori on the jockeys front. Eve Johnson-Houghton having her first winner was my highlight, Mrs Johnson Houghton (Eve's mother) who owned and bred Accidental Agent was leading British owner for the whole week.
Latrobe became Joseph O'Brien's first Classic winner as a trainer when landing Saturday's Irish Derby by half a length under the trainer's younger brother Donnacha, beating Rostropovich and Saxon Warrior, both trained by their father Aidan.
I started the month off in Italy, just like the horses, we all need that short break to reset, mine was filled with wine tasting and food, much like the horses with grass and water!

We always enjoy welcoming all of our owners throughout the season to come and visit their horses and during the summer there is no exception, below you can see a few of our owners who have visited their horses this past month. Whether the horses are out in the field or in full time work we like to encourage you to visit your horse at any time of the year.

UNDER THE HAMMER
Another month and another sale, this time back over to Ireland for the Tattersalls Derby sales. I felt I had bought enough youngsters at Goffs and, seeing the prices yesterday I was mighty relieved that I bought the horses as all would have made far more yesterday.
Records shattered with the top price at a staggering 365,000Euros, it goes to show how the trade for unraced jumpers has literally gone through the roof. Agent Aiden Murphy was busy as he was responsible for the top three lots who were all over 200K. The standout stallion at the sale was Fame and Glory.
I went to view the youngsters we purchased at the Goffs sale who are being broken in with Martin Jones, all of whom are looking magnificent, it is amazing how quickly they can come together.
